The second pair of Earth shoes I bought are the Magnetism II in a vegan material. They look just like Birkenstocks, which is good or bad depending on how you look at it. (FYI: this is one of the pairs of shoes which came with "dust bags.")
The good: these shoes are crazy comfortable, and have become the shoes I put by my bed to put on first thing in the morning, and I wear them all day in the house, and very often when I leave the house. They look good with jeans.
The bad: the vegan material makes my feet sweat. This creates a flatulence sound with each step. I fixed this by putting commercial "gel" insoles designed for open shoes (Dr. Scholl's Open Shoe Insoles with Massaging Gel--a cool product on their own if you don't mind buying Dr. Scholl). They provided a layer between the foot and the footbed. However, something about the shoes creates foot odor, which is a little gross. Also, because I'm pretty hard on my shoes, the material has scrapes and stuff on it.
I'm pretty sure that all the problems I have with these wouldn't happen if these shoes were leather.
Bottom line: too comfortable to care about the bad stuff. I love 'em and recommend them.
